Considered by many to be Britain's most prolific offender, claims of abuse against the radio and television personality Sir James Wilson Vincent "Jimmy" Savile span over 50 years, include by some counts upwards of 400 people, and include a majority of minors under age 18 with at least one as young as eight.

He is a case study of the elite sex offender that seems untouchable.  Some were bold enough to speak out while he was alive, and report his crimes to the police.  While some charges were dismissed by the authorities, he countered others.  The few bold people that we willing to speak up, found themselves standing alone.  That changed dramatically though after his death, when people no longer had to fear reprisal.

There is a weath of information out there now, years after his death.
